smoking [24 Jan 2003|11:56pm]
[ mood | bored ]
[ music | 1. New World - Round Table featuring Nino (.hack//The Legend of Twilight's Bracelet OST) ]

Yes, that's right. I'm going to go against my own beliefs and let my opinion on the subject known.

I'm sick of people complaining about it. There is a difference between being completely allergic to the smoke and requesting that someone holds off until out of their presence and being a dick about it and preaching to a smoker about the horrible effects like they have never heard it before. Fuck off already. I could care less is someone smokes or not. The smell doesn't bother me, and I don't care if it gets in my clothes. We all have our self-destructive habits (I'm not bashing it, but you can't deny it isn't healthy), smoking is just one of the more in your face ones. I'm fed up with Anti-Smokers. They are just a bunch of self-righteous assholes with nothing better to do than make someones life more miserable than it is. I've smoked myself (casual smoker, will accept when someone offers, but not an addiction or habit) and I will tell you right now, unless you have smoked yourself (and not that pussy coughing shit that so many people want to associate with a first smoke), don't bash it. In my opinion, only former smokers should have the right to even mention to a smoker they shouldn't because they have been through it, they understand what it's like. Someone with no experience in the field doesn't have a clue, so they should just keep their stupid fucking mouth shut and go somewhere else. Instead though, you outlaw it everywhere. How very considerate. First you shove smokers into a little corner of a restaurant where they have to eat if they plan on having at least one cig durring the meal, and now you are banning them all together. How compassionate. But yet, we still put up with cellphones, chompers, loud talkers, and other, more annoying people in restaurants. Doesn't make sense.

Of course, that's just my opinion, and if you don't agree, you can always go blow yourself.

Well I think I might actually do what I've been wanting to do for so long. Write a book. I've been off and on in the subject, but I think this is something I can't put off. I have always wanted to write a book, and so I will do it. Once I get part of the manuscript, I'm going to see if any publishers are willing to purchase it. Until then, all I can do is hope.

[ music | 01. Foundations of Stone - Howard Shore (Two Towers OST) ]

I haven't been on much recently, mainly because I have been playing games. I always dedicate at least a week to doing nothing but catching up on video games. Right now I'm about to finish FF8 (about fucking time), Chrono Trigger (again), Metroid Prime, and get all the characters in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Also got DDRMax (insanely addictive game) and SOCOM but that is my brothers so I don't get often to play it, along with Megaman X4 and X5. So don't expect much out of me for a bit of time. I only get on late at night before I go to bed. That's about all.

Well the US has now agreed to share its intelligence information (which seems odd, US intelligence. what an oxymoron) with UN weapons inspectors after a request by Hans Blix, the chief inspector.

------------
The US had been reluctant to hand over what it sees as sensitive information for fear it could give Iraq information about its intelligence operations, BBC Washington correspondent Justin Webb says.

The agreement comes while the US is preparing for a rapid increase in its military strength in the Middle East, almost doubling the number of troops near Iraq.

President Bush has meanwhile cancelled a trip to Africa, scheduled for January, fuelling speculation that he is preparing for war on Iraq.

------------

Funny though, we are scared to hand over our information on Iraq to the few people who are supposed to be aiding us in this situation. Paranoid methinks? And when they say "preparing for a rapid increase in it's military strength", they aren't kidding. The Pentagon plans to 'ship' 50,000 more troops within the next month to the Gulf and Turkey, joining the already 60,000 troops stationed there. Not being that discrete about military plans. It's not like Hussein will look at the movements and think "Oh, looks like there is going to be a party. Let me grab my coat, I'll pick up a 6-pack on the way." Not quite.

------------
"'We expect Mr Saddam Hussein to disarm,' Mr Bush said."
------------

It's comments like these that keep me froming having a lot of faith in our leader. Years of threats, bomb raids, and paperwork over the disarmament process and he thinks we don't realize we expect him to toss his weapons? Or better yet, that we do expect him to. This long and still no definate signs of complete disarmament, I don't think he is going to have a sudden change of heart right now. 20,000 litres of biological warfare agents are 'missing' and we expect him to just go "Oh, sorry about that" and toss them out the window? I wouldn't be so ignorant. He is, for lack of a better word, a dictator and a tyrant. And as one, he won't give up that easily. Hope for the best, expect a nuclear fallout.

[ music | 1. Blue Fields - Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy VIII: Piano Collection) ]

According to the Bjørn Stærk blog, the anti-US sentiment in Norway has risen, saying 64% of those polled have become more negative towards us compared to 48% just three months ago.

I don't blame them though, they have every right to be upset with us, if I was in any other country, I would still hold a grudge to the US. Of course, it's hard to find a decent place to live on this planet these days, too much corruption and greed ruling us. Sure, it has always been that way, but there were times when you could go your entire life and never realize you were living in a designated state. Those days are gone, as technology (for better or for worse) has killed the days of total seclusion from your fellow man. But who knows, maybe I'm alone in the enjoyment of being away from the busy lifestyles we live today.

That's right. Sammy Davis Jr is your god. You will worship him. Possibly the best vocalist out of the rat pack and one of the best vocalist ever, Sammy rules all. If you have never listened to his stuff (god forbid), go download some of it now or better yet, buy one of his albums. Even a greatest hits one will do. Do it now.

[ music | 2. Hurt - Johnny Cash (American IV: The Man Comes Around) ]

This has got to be one of the most fucked up albums I have ever heard. Johnny Cash kicks so much ass, even if it is for the main reason that he did a cover of Nine Inch Nails. Unfortunately he changed the words in Hurt a tad (Those of you who have heard the original song know Trent says "Crown of Shit" whilst in this version, he says "Crown of Thorns"). It's ok though, he's a badass and so he's allowed to do that. I think everyone should check this album out, he covers NIN, Depeche Mode, U2, Sting, Beatles, and so much more (It also has some original stuff as well). Go now, buy, enjoy.

You seriously need to change your taste in music. How about some Britney Spears? If that doesn't drive you to suicide then why not sample some N-Sync? Anything that kills you before you're 40 would suit me fine.

w00t. Soon the 'joy' of christmas is here. Boy, I'm looking forward to it. I seriously doubt there will be any good coming from the winter festivities, but oh well, who knows, someone might get stabbed in the lower intestines and while they lie there, bleeding to death we can all do an irish jig around them pouring our eggnog on them in a ritualistic fasion. yay for death and torment. Ok actually all i'm hoping for is either a PS2, Game Cube of a new SNES with some games. I'm a poor bastard, I know. I would get a job, but me and effort have never got along. Soon though, I will tame the wild beast and rape it until it calls me Daddy.

[ music | 4. Melody of Lute - Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy: Pray) ]

Since I have been questions about why I don't have to go to school anymore, here is the deal.

I plan on graduating at the same time, possibly a bit earlier than the rest of my class and I didn't want to have to go back to the building anymore (severe hatred for high-schoolers does that to you). So I decided to drop out and get my diploma (a legit HS diploma) through a program that allows you to finish up your classes either at home or at their building, all online and at your own pace. When you are done, you get your diploma. Only thing is I have to wait until I'm 18 to take the final test to get it. But it's no big problem seeing as how I can blow through the classes in about 2 weeks at most, and leave all that time left to just goof off and look for a job, possibly start college (going for my associates). So there you go. Why I am better than you.

God, I'm glad I don't have to worry about school anymore. But I need to get into the habit of going to bed earlier. I don't know how often I will be able to hold up if I go to bed at 4 every night, unless I get a night job or something. Actually I would prefer that. Oh well. I think I will have Final Fantasy: Potion play tonight as I go to bed. Great fucking album if I do say so myself. Anyone who enjoys VGM or just Final Fantasy music in general should get this as soon as possible. I believe you can get it at GameMusic.com. Anyways, have fun for tonight.
